Polk Street UMC Christian Life Center

This project features a new multipurpose Christian Life Center, new Youth Center, Child Development Center (CDC), Coffee Shop and Visitor Center. The Child Development Center serves children from 6wks old through 4-year-old Preschool in a colorful, fun, and highly secure environment. The Christian Life Center is a 2 story space with a full kitchen, full-size courts, and 2nd-floor jogging track. The Youth Center features a vaulted Assembly Area and stage, classrooms, kitchen, and large game room. Our design team worked with the church in the early fundraising stages to provide design work and preliminary pricing as well as graphics used in the capital campaign.

St. Marys Cathedral

After a devastating fire destroyed the historic St. Mary’s Church in February 2007, Lavin Architects was given the task of raising it out of the ashes.  The new sanctuary building seats 1000 worshipers and has a small chapel as well.  Relics from the existing building were utilized where possible and a new brick sculpture of Jesus and Mary highlights the exterior elevation.

St. Stephen United Methodist Church

This project features a new Children’s facility with classrooms and Worship Center that also serves as a preschool and Mother’s Day Out facility during the week.  The project team worked with the church to also master plan and renovate the existing building.  A new commercial kitchen over 2 times the original size is featured in the renovation as well as larger handicap accessible restrooms.  Once the children’s ministry vacated their space in the building, that area was renovated into more adult classrooms and gathering spaces.
